I know Essie had just released this collection in the US. It has been out for a while over here in germany and I have 4 of the 5 colors. So I decided to do a quick review post on them.

So here’s what they look like in their bottle:

From left to right we have: Penny Talk. Blue Rhapsody, Nothing else Metals and No place like Chrome.

And here’s what they look swatched:

l to r: Penny Talk, Nothing else metals, No place like Chrome, Blue Rhapsody

Overall I really love them all! Can’t say anything bad about them. Unlike most metallic polishes those go on really smooth and non-streaky. Maybe we have the advantage of having the wide flat brush over here. They are really shiny even without a Top Coat, they give your nails this “dipped-in-liquid-chrome” look.  The stying quality is also very impressive. I had Blue Rhapsody on for over 5 days without any noticable tipwear or chipping.

I definately give them an A+! If you like the metallic look, then go ahead and check them out!

Zoya “Tru” >>> 5,99 $

Zoya “Kendal” >>> 5,99 $

OPI “Jade is the new Black” >>> 5,99 $

China Glaze Crackle “Glam-More” >>> 3,25 $

I purchased all these polishes over the last couple of weeks, and there are still 2 packages on the way to me. I have also already gotten  some other exciting new polishes here at home which are worth doing a seperate post. 🙂

Hope you enjoyed…

I guess I should re-name the blog “The Haul-Pages”… *lol

So here’s another drugstore Haul. All things were purchases over the last couple weeks. Enjoy… 🙂

There we have alllllll the goodies. 🙂 Sorry bout the tacky picture, my camera starts doing weird things with the lighting when I take close-ups lately.

Found the Essence “Snow White” LE. I got those three beauties:

Special Effect Topper “Prince Charming” >>> 1,95 €

Mini polish “Bashful” and “Dopey” >>> 1,55 € each

Essie “Ballett Slippers” >>> 7,95 €

On Sale Essence Color & Go polishes in “Sparkling Water Lilly” and Nude Glam polish in “Iced Strawberry Latte” >>> 0,95 € each (the “Sparkling Water Lilly looks much prettier in person. It is a white pearl color with blue-ish shimmer to it.)

Essence Miami Roller Girl Blush in “Dates on Skates” >>> 2,75 €

Something to say on the blush. The product itself is very beautiful and very good pigmented. But the packaging is clearly the most tackiest and cheapest I have ever seen.

I also bought the L’Oreal Nude Magic BB Cream for very light skin. It was on sale for 8,95 €.

Hope you liked that Haul. I have some more coming up, maybe if I have time to write at the weekend. I’m also waiting for three packages of nail polish I ordered on ebay, so there will be a huge Nail Mail post as well…

As promised, here is my nail polish haul! These are polishes I purchased over the last couple of weeks.

P2 What’s up? Beach Babe “Good Lovin'” >>> 1,95 €

P2 What’s up? Beach Babe “Adventurous” >>> 1,95 €

Essence Reday for Boarding Peel Off Base Coat >>> 1,75 €

Essence Color & Go “Blue Addicted” >>> 1,25 €

The Peel Off Base Coat I just bought to try out. Maybe if it works, it would be a good solution for Glitter polishes, since they are a pain to remove. And as a note, the Essence Color & Go polishes are all on sale for 0,95 € now, since they all going to be discontinued by august. Essence is going to change the bottle shape and size and some of the colors, as well as the price. I obviously got mine before the sale.

Essie “Watermelon”

Essie “Sole Mate”

Essie “Bikini so Teeny”

Essie “All tied Up”

each 7,95 €

Zoya “Lotus”

Zoya “Wednesday”

each 10,40 €

OPI “Into the Night”

OPI “Just spotted the Lizard”

each 5,99 $

OPI “Tease-y does it” >>> 8,- €

The “Tease-y does it” I got from a local Douglas store, which is a beauty departement store chain comparable to Sephora over here. Normally their OPI polishes are 16 €, which I think is ridiculous,  but I wanted that color so bad and so I decided to spend that money anyways. So I was pretty surprised, that at the checkout it was mraked down to 8 €, which is a discount of 50 %! Yay! 🙂

Hope you liked my little Haul. I already ordered some more polishes online, so I will have another Haul up in the next weeks. 🙂

Hey Lovelies!

Since Essie is now available in most drugstores in Germany, and they have made quite a few changes on the product, I decided I wanna do a little comparison between the two. I chose “Turquoise & Caicos” on the German side and “Who is the Boss?” on the US side.

Let the Games begin…. 🙂

So here they are next to each other. On your left we have “Turquoise & Caicos” and on your right “Who is the Boss?”

There are over 70 colors to choose from in their permanent line over here. Plus several limited editions over the year. Unfortunately we don’t get all the collections they bring out in the US.

The first difference is the little name tag. The German version has it stuck on the bottle cap, the US version on the bottom of the bottle.

But the most noticable difference you can see when you unscrew the bottle.

The brush is much bigger and wider than the one from the US version.  Comparable to the the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure brushes. I have heard, the small version is also available but just in salons.

The formula has also changed. Most of the colors are “One-Coaters”, except for some of the Soft Shades like “Marshmellow” or “Ballett Slippers”.  They go on very smooth. They stay on my nails for up to 5 days without chipping or any kind of tipwear, depending on the color. Which I think is a great improvement, cause normally nail polish last on me no longer than 2 days.

Here the overview:

US-Version:

+ more collections

+ collections are out earlier

+ the price in online stores is cheaper

– very small brush

– stying power isn’t that great

– sometimes they go on streaky

– buying them online takes some waiting time, due to overseas shipping

German Version

+ wider brush makes application easier

+ stay on longer

+ go on more smooth

+ availability is easier

+/- price is higher than in online stores but cheaper than before (before 13,95 € now 7,95 €)

– some colors and collections not available

So overall Germany wins with 4.5 to 3 over the USA. Yay!!! 🙂

I really love Essie, so I will still be buying both styles. The simple reason is, that there are so many colors out there, that we don’t have here. 🙂

Hope you liked my little comparison…

Guess what… another nail polish haul!!!!

Those are all polishes I’ve purchased during the last week. Only six of them so I did pretty good for an addict, didn’t I? 😉 So here they are up close:

All prices are in € and except the Manhattan polish, I bought them all in several Douglas stores around the country. Just for those who are not from Germany, Douglas is a beauty departement store over here, comparable to Sephora in the US.

The NOPI polishes were on a display with tons of different colors, saying they were all new Kardashian polishes. Are they really from a Kardashian collection? I’ve never seen swatches of those online. Anyways, I bought them cause I really like foily ot metallicy colors at the moment.

The Manhattan & Buffalo polish is a limited edition color I bought at a DM drugstore. And the Douglas color is such a pretty one I can’t believe I have overlooked it for soooo long.

The Essie Mirror Metallics polish I am the most excited for! I don’t know if this collection will be out outside Germany and if so, when. I know Essie is releasing this collection right now over here. There are 5 different colors in it, all metallics. I am on the hunt for them ever since I saw the first pictures, but I could only find Blue Rhapsody so far. And I am sooooo so glad I did. I love the color! It is soo pretty and not streaky at all. I’m wearing it right now and I love it! I’ll definately look out for the other colors and post a seperate haul if I found them. Cause I want them all!!! 🙂

The Essie Marshmellow one was on my wishlist for a while, and when I bought one of the NOPI colors, I saw that they had a little box next to the check out counter, that had reduced Essies in them. There where only two left, one was “Pearly White” and the other was my lovely “Marshmellow”. So I thought I have to give it a nice loving home. 🙂

Here are some swatches of all of them:

Aren’t they all pretty??? I didn’t swatch “Marshmellow” cause it’s just a sheer white color, wouldn’t be very noticable on a white swatch wheel.

What do you think of these color? Have you “hauled” lately?

Oops I did it again… 😉

in particular:

The “Zuckerschnute” Shower Gel and Body Lotion smell sooooo delicious! They remind me of Lemon Cake batter from the cake my Mom used to make, when I was a kid. And I hope the “Nourish Me” Basecoat from Essie helps me moisture my nails, so they won’t break that often.

What were your latest purchases???
