I found the new Essence polishes! YAY!!!! 🙂

I told you in another post, that Essence is going to discontinue all their Color & Go polishes. They change the formula, the brush and also the bottle size, and they bring out several new colors. So I discovered the new ones in a local drugstore and bought a bunch of them. The have so many pretty fun colors.

Here’s what I bought:

from left to right:

Date in the Moonlight >>> a dusty blue with blue microglitter

Walk on the Wild Side >>> a mossy green with green microglitter

Chic reloaded >>> a purple-grey-green duochrome

from left to right:

Off to Miami >>> a bright coral-y orange

Grey-t to be here >>> a very light grey with pink microglitter

I love bad Boys >>>  a light blue with blue microglitter

Gorgeous Bling Bling >>> a rusty orange with gold shimmer and flakies

And here’s what they look swatched:

l to r: Date in the Moonlight, Chic reloaded, Walk on the Wild side

l to r: I love Bad Boys, Off to Miami, Grey-t to be here, Gorgeous Bling Bling

Sadly my camera doesn’t pick up the shimmer very good. They look even more gorgeous in person.

I will do a seperate comparison post Essence new vs. Essence old soon…

I know Essie had just released this collection in the US. It has been out for a while over here in germany and I have 4 of the 5 colors. So I decided to do a quick review post on them.

So here’s what they look like in their bottle:

From left to right we have: Penny Talk. Blue Rhapsody, Nothing else Metals and No place like Chrome.

And here’s what they look swatched:

l to r: Penny Talk, Nothing else metals, No place like Chrome, Blue Rhapsody

Overall I really love them all! Can’t say anything bad about them. Unlike most metallic polishes those go on really smooth and non-streaky. Maybe we have the advantage of having the wide flat brush over here. They are really shiny even without a Top Coat, they give your nails this “dipped-in-liquid-chrome” look.  The stying quality is also very impressive. I had Blue Rhapsody on for over 5 days without any noticable tipwear or chipping.

I definately give them an A+! If you like the metallic look, then go ahead and check them out!

About two weeks ago I stumbled over the new Essence Ready for Boarding Trend Edition in my local drugstore. There wasn’t much in that TE that really interested me, although the design of the Eyeshadow pallete was pretty cute. The polish colors were pretty boring, the Peel Off Base Coat, I showed you in my recent Haul of Shame was already sold out, so I decided to try out the Lip & Cheek Cremes. And I bought both of them.

Here’s what they look like:

On the left we have “Sending you Kisses”, a dark fushia pink, and on the right is “Beauty on Tour”, a coral peach color. The consitency is really nice, very creamy and not sticky at all. The pigmentation is very good, and they blend on easily and are also buildable on your cheeks and lips if you want a richer color.  The price was around 3 € each.

Here is a “heavy” swatch on the back of my hand:

left: Sending you Kisses

right: Beauty on Tour

My own opinion is that I would rather use them on my cheeks than on my lips, but the only reason for that is, that I don’t like lip products, where you have to stick your fingers in to apply them.

If you can still get them, just go ahead. I think they are a realy good product for the price and worth checking them out.

Today I wanna show you this Tony Moly Nail Polish Set I purchased on ebay a couple weeks ago and which just arrived in the mail.

The colors are:

GS08 – Milky Way >>> a light blue with blue, pink and silver different sized glitters

GS09 – Shooting Star >>> a light lavender with multicolored different sized glitters

GS10 – Pinky Star >>> a light pink with red, gold and pink different sized glitters

Milky Way I guess, is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann’s “Glitter in the Air” or Revlon “Whimsical”. Those are both polishes that are on my wishlist, so I have none of them to compare, but just from inside the bottle, they look the same. I made some swatches on my swatch-sticks:

Here they are swatched all by themselves, it’s three coats of each.

Here they are swatched over one coat of OPI “My boyfriend scales walls”. Those where 2 coats of each.

left are the polishes alone, three coats.

right over a white base, two coats.

As you can see, they go on pretty sheer. If you want a good coverage I would recommend a white or other matching base color underneath.

I bought them on as a Set for 18,92 $ plus 5,30 $ international shipping, but I’ve seen them recently for the same price with free shipping from a different seller. They ship from Korea and it took them 2 weeks to arrive in Germany.

Today, I wanted to just something fun. This is a Tag goin’ around on youtube called “Nail Polish Obsession”, and since I am obviously nail polish addicted I decided to participate in that one. Since I don’t do videos on youtube, I will do it blogger-style. 🙂

Let’s get started!

1. What is your favorite nail polish company?

I can’t decide on one single company, so I show you my 3 favorites:

2. Glitter or no Glitter?

Let the pictures speak:

(and that’s not even all…)

3.  OPI, China Glaze or Essie?

If I have to decide between them, I would say Essie. But OPI is pretty close.

4. When do you change your nail polish?

Usually in the evening while watching TV or videos on youtube.

5. What’s your favorite color on your nails?

That depends on my mood. Recently I am more into blues. I am buying blue nail polish like crazy. Before that it was green. But sometimes I just like a classic red or pink nail.

6.  Darks or Brights?

Usually Darks. I love those vampy colors all around the year. I like Brights, but only in “real” summer, with sun, hot temperatures, etc.

7. What are you wearing on your nails right this moment?

Orly Au Champagne with Essie Set in Stones on the ring finger

8. Matte Nails – In or Out?

Out! Never liked them, just not for me.

9. French Manicure?

Love it. Looks really chic and classic, but just when you have longer nails. I don’t like it, when you have supershort nails and just put a white tip on. That doesn’t look good to me.

10.  Favorite Winter color?

I don’t have one specific winter color. I like everything muted and kinda dark, like dark plum colors, greys and vampy reds. And I also like jeweltoned or glitter colors. Here are some examples:

OPI – Lincoln Park after Dark, Zoya – Edyta, Essie – Limited Addiction, OPI – Diva of Geneva
